Our name, Persephanie, rhymes with the name Stephanie. We are using a more modern spelling of the the original Persephone.

In Greek mythology, Persephanie is the goddess of spring, and the reason for the seasons of the year. As the seasons are a significant part of our lives here in Brattleboro, we thought the name rather appropriate.

She is also the wife of Hades, and so the goddess of the underworld. Considering our subterranean location, this seemed to be equally fitting for us.
